Early morning rants

Well, this is a hideously long post, so I'm cutting it for those of you who don't want to know what I get up to at 3 in the morning!

Ugh, am so bored! It's 02:22 in the morning, and all I want to do is curl up in bed. The only problem with that is that I can't. Because I'm currently transferring everything off Johnny (otherwise known as kyizi's computer) onto Doyle (a.k.a. my computer) because she's taking him in to be fixed and she wants everything in a safe place. Only, I'm having to do via Frankie (a.k.a. my portable USB drive), who will only take 66 Mb at a time, because I've got stuff on him that I don't want to delete. Argh! It's taking forever and I want my bed. Bizarrely, I'm also hungry. If only I could network Johnny and Doyle together, it would be great. Sadly, I've already tried that, and couldn't get it to work.

And, what's more, Doyle's being contaminated with Harry/Draco, Snape/Hermione, and even one Harry/Snape fic! (And, yes, kyizi, I know it's not *really* Harry, but that's not the point!) At least there isn't any RPS on him. (Although I have read some Orlijah that actually scared notasalmon! Needless to say, it was on Baldrick (otherwise known as notasalmon's Mac!)

You may have noticed a trend with naming our various electronic equipment. My laptop's called Doyle, and my USB disk is called Frankie. (After Doyle from Angel and Frankie Muniz from Malcolm in the Middle, in case you were interested.) kyizi's laptop is called Johnny (after Johnny Depp, athough I'm sure you needn't have been told!). loriel_eris's Palm computer's called Ed, and her USB drive is called Harry (after Edmund from Blackadder (notasalmon named him) and after Harry Potter). notasalmon's laptop is Baldrick (again, from Blackadder).

It gets worse. Worse! I hear you cry. How can it possibly get worse? Well, my laptop has two hard-drives. The principle one is called Doyle, obviously. The secondary one is called Sark, and holds all my precious Alias screencaps, photos, and videos. My floppy drive is called Orli. It was going to be called Frankie, until kyizi said something about inserting things into it, and I couldn't face calling it after someone who was only 17!

kyizi's are Johnny (C:), Jack (D:), and Jeffrey (A:) after Johnny Depp, Jack Bristow, and Jeff Hardy.

Now, since I've bored you all to death, I suppose I'll try and come up with something interesting to keep both you and me awake!

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean again tonight (well, I suppose it was last night, now) with my flat-mate, who'd only seen it once at the cinema. I showed her the Blooper Reel as well, and had her in hysterics. The image of Orli going: "Argh, swash swash buckle buckle, argh!" will forever stay in my memory to cheer me up!

Speaking of cheering up, I'm going to see Return of the King tomorrow, for only the second time. I know, shocking that as big a fan as myself has only been to see it once, but I just haven't had the time. (Was about to yell at Doyle for not pasting something when I realised that I hadn't actually copied it in the first place!) So, I actually managed to listen to the whole soundtrack tonight/last night without for the first time. And I didn't burst into tears! I bought the soundtrack the day I saw the film, which was on the Wednesday it came out, but I hadn't brought myself to listen to it, since I knew it would just depress me.

Anyway, I managed it. It got me a little down, but no tears were present. Heaven knows how I'm going to manage tomorrow/later today! Still, kyizi and I are going to see Scary Movie 3 after it, so that should cheer me up! You know, I was planning on falling asleep whilst watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, for some Tom Felton-ness, but I think I might pass on that tonight/this morning!

Huzzah! I've nearly finished copying Sark across! You would not believe how many stupid .psd files kyizi saves! Of course, they're all humungous! Grr! Argh! Still, Doyle and Johnny are behaving themselves (miraculous on Johnny's part, because he's terrible at playing up) and Frankie's doing wonders too. kyizi, I'd better get David Anders for several weeks for this! In fact, you can just give him back to me for the time being, and you can go off with your toyboy - aka Jeremy Sumpter!

Okay, so it's 02:49 now. Phew! How my eyes are open, God knows! Not too much longer, I don't think! Thank you! Why did I volunteer to do this? And I have a Physics lab to do tomorrow/later today! How I'm going to make sense of anything is anyone's guess! Maybe I should just stay awake for the whole night. Hmm, let me think about that. Uh, NO! I'm a sleep-person, I need my sleep.

I realise that no-one in their right mind's is going to read this, but never mind, it's keeping me awake.

Ooh, I want your opinion. I've made a new layout for my LJ. Yes, I know Orli's only been up a week, but corngirl_jo's video inspired me, and I've got groovy new icons. The only thing is, I don't know whether I should put it up yet. Ooh, and I've forgotten to put my little LJ logo on it. Hmm, must go back and do that first. I might leave it for just now, though, because I love my Orli icons too, especially the "Of course I'm not shy ... sometimes" one, possibly because he looks adorable in that photo!

I read the transcript that kyizi took of the conversation she had between ignited, stevie_jane, and projectgalem (good job you didn't say anything horrible about me, wasn't it? ;) I know Tony (kyizi's ex) and am now desperately hoping that he doesn't ever ask me what "Orlijah" is!

Oh no! The birds are singing! This is just not right! kyizi and her bloody wallpaper fetish! Grr! I think I might have to consume large amounts of caffeine when I get up! Which means I'm going to look like I'm practising for the human maraca championships! My stomach's complaining about lack of food as well, but doesn't seem to appreciate that there's nothing in this flat that can be eaten without at least 30 minutes preparation time!

I tell you what, though. My keyboard shortcut techniques are now fine-tuned! As are my abilities to work mice with both hands simultaneously! To an outside viewer, it must look a bit dodgy. Here I am sitting on my bed, Doyle on my lap and Johnny lying beside me, with Frankie flashing between the two. He he! Ahh, what late nights/early mornings can do to someone's brain! Either it sounds as though I'm having a very nice orgy, or else it looks as though I'm trying to hack into some government files. Sadly, neither is the case. I'm sure they'd be a lot more fun!

Time update: It's now 03:10, in case you were interested. And I'm getting up in just over 6 hours. Grr! I'm going to be a walking zombie! Okay, that doesn't make sense. Surely zombies walk anyway. So, I'm just going to be a zombie.

Johnny's playing up now - he's refusing to stop Frankie and let me take him out of him and put him into Doyle. Okay, now *that* sounded *really* bad! Honestly, it's not as fun as it sounds!

I can't feel my feet anymore. Somehow, I don't think this is a good thing! What I don't understand is how Doyle can copy and paste stuff faster than Johnny, despite the fact that Johnny has tonnes more memory than Doyle, and a faster processor. There's something seriously wrong with that computer. Hopefully, it won't take long to fix, and then I have to go through this whole bloody rigmarole again, putting stuff back onto him!

Huzzah! I'm nearly done! Once this lot has finished, all I have to do is go through her Music folder and get the stuff that I don't have off it. (Which hopefully won't be much!) Mmm, got lovely images are Orli staring at me at the moment. Now that's enough to keep a girl awake!

It's now 03:38 and there is 2.48 Gb of space left on Sark, who used to have tonnes of space! *wail* Johnny had better get fixed mighty fast, since I won't be able to do any layouts or anything whilst I have his contents on Sark! Grr!

Okay, scrap the "I'm nearly done" bit, since I don't know what kyizi has on CD or not, so I don't know what music files I can scrap. Grr! She's got tonnes of soundtrack music, too, and I don't know if she has them!

03:56: My backside is now numb. I think I may just slump here and not crawl underneath the covers! My poor baby is grinding to a halt because of all this stuff on him. What's even more annoying is that quite a lot of it is doubled up - fic, photos, manips etc. But I didn't want to delete everything because not *everything* is doubled up and then I'd have to go through each file and figure out who had what etc. Also, kyizi would then have no idea where anything was. She's quite trusting, really, isn't she? I mean, I basically hold her life in her hands. I could delete everything! Mwahaha! Especially since there's hardly anything on Johnny now - I cut and pasted it all onto Doyle.

So, you'd better be nice to me, kyizi, otherwise I won't give you your stuff back! ;)

Ooh, I know what I was going to mention when I was talking about the MSN chat. The trailer for Troy. I must go and download that, because I've been trying to find a place that I can. The Official Website is useless, because I can't actually save it to Frankie, all I can do is watch it on the uni computer, which doesn't have any sound. Hence, no good!

Don't you hate it when the "Copying..." box changes it's mind constantly on how long it's going to take? You know, it goes from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, and then on to 2 minutes without any kind of logic. I had that problem when I downloaded corngirl_jo's latest video. It claimed it was going to take 7 hours! And then about 4 hours passed in the space of 2 minutes according to it, since it came up with a new time of 3 hours. I left it downloading because I had a lab to go to, but loriel_eris tried doing it, and it only took 20 minutes the next time! Stupid computers! Honestly, you'd think in this day and age we could get them to work properly!

You're not going to believe this, but I'M DONE! And it's only 04:21! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah! "Contents of Johnny" only takes up 2.89 Gb on Sark, who now has 1.88 Gb of freespace! Argh!

But I can go to sleep now. Woohoo! The birds are singing away merrily and my only consolation is that it's winter, so it's not getting light yet!
