as close as you can get
Oct. 9th, 2003 01:31 pmSo, I went to my friend's (Karen) play last night; it was Les Liasons Dangereuses (God, my French spelling has become atrocious! Anyway, you get the idea!). Laura (who's just got a livejournal under the name "loriel_eris" and for some reason, it won't let me link to it) and I decided (somewhat foolishly) to sit in the front row, in front of the bed. Now I knew what was going to happen, for one because I knew the premise of the play, and two, Karen had told me about rehearsals, so I should have known better.
Anyway, there were bed scenes, although the guy that was playing Valmont (who Karen fancies, and with total justification, 'cos he is HOT!) didn't have time to take any clothes off, since he was running on and off stage like a loon! At one point, he made out with this girl (who's character name I can't for the life of me remember) right at my feet. I'm talking inches away. It was really strange. I didn't know where to look!
Also, Karen was sitting on a chaise lounge really close to me in one scene, and the lights dimmed and this piano music came on. I immediately thought of Draco (it's a long story I won't go into here!) and tried not to smile, and definitely not look at Karen, because I knew she would realise why I was smiling and probably crack up herself. Apparently, she saw me, and had to look down again, because I was looking up at the ceiling with a smirk on my face!
All in all, it was a fantastic play, and the performers really did it justice.
On completely other notes, I'm currently not stressing about my upcoming Society's Beer & Donut Night, which is tonight, and not much has been done for it. Still, I'm sure if I just wander about with a smile on my face, everything will be fine. (Or else people with think I'm crackers!)
Okay, I'm off to find more Sark video clips. :)
