So I watched a bit more of Supernatural S2 last night (or actually early this morning). I got up to episode 8. Now, normally I'm not freaked by Supernatural, despite the fact that some of the stuff can be pretty gruesome/scary. But last night, oh, it wasn't nice. Probably didn't help that I'm alone in my aunt's house, as opposed to my own.

It wasn't as bad as the seaon 1 finale, when I nearly choked on a cushion from inhaling it to stop my scream of shock from being heard by the rest of the household (since it was about 2 in the morning. *g*).

I'm not going to watch any more, because I only have one more episode at the moment, until I've got more in my sticky little hands - I'm trying to pace myself.

Hello to [livejournal.com profile] hellokimberly, my newfound Jericho and Supernatural fan friend. *g*

Hello!!!! ;o)

I'm amazed by the amount of people into Jericho and Supernatural. It's so neat.

I wasn't even properly aware of Jericho until about a week ago. People on my friends list had been talking about it, but I had so many other shows to watch that I didn't pay it much attention. Also, I wasn't sure it was the sort of thing that I wanted to watch - I don't know where I got the idea from but somehow the whole post-apocalyptic thing didn't do anything for me.

But then [livejournal.com profile] loriel_eris gave me what she'd downloaded (she'd seen a couple of episodes and loved it) and I was hooked. It wasn't at all how I thought it was going to be. *g*

As for Supernatural, I was really late on the uptake there. I'd known about it for ages because I was curious as to what Jensen Ackles was doing after Dark Angel (which I still mourn the loss of), and thought it sounded interesting, and then promptly forgot about, because it wasn't airing here in the UK.

Then one day when I was bored, I looked it up on the internet and decided that it would make a very good birthday present for me - everyone had been pestering me as to what I wanted and I hadn't been able to think of anything. Very soon there was a nice, shiny DVD boxset sitting on my desk. *g* And I was hooked.

What I like about both shows is that they're different from the norm. Jericho reminds me of exercises I had to do at school (some disaster happened and we had to survive/complete tasks using only what was available to us - essentially exactly the premise of Jericho) and it's just different from everything else that's showing at the moment (although I suppose Lost comes quite close, although there are the dubious EM stuff in that which I think goes a bit too far, but what can you expect from JJ Abrahms? *g*).

Supernatural is great because there are two stars and that's it. No huge supporting cast and no silly girl as the heroine either - it's gritty stuff. Plus, Dean and Sam are awesome. *g*

Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] hellokimberly I didn't mean to bombard with all this, and I'm not normally like this, but I've been reading Battlestar Galactica fic and it's got me thinking. *g*
