Boat Race (Oxford v Cambridge)
Apr. 7th, 2007 05:34 pmSo, I watched the Boat Race (O/C). (I have to specify which Boat Race it is, because the Edinburgh/Glasgow Boat Race is just as important north of the border.) It was a good race, although you could see that Oxford were tiring towards the end when Cambridge pushed forward. I felt a little sorry for Oxford, because they really expended all their energy a little early. Cambridge raced brilliantly, though, so well done to them.
Anyway, it got me thinking, and I went researching the Glasgow Rowing Club. That led me on to the Glasgow University Boat Club (GUBC) and discovering that the Ladies' Boat Club (GULBC, of which I was a member) has merged with the Men's club. Also, they've got an Alumni Club now, which naturally I'm thinking about joining. I've signed up for the graduate letter, but I think once my life is sorted, I might actually join the Alumni Club. It'd be good to get back into a boat.
Here's some info on both of the Boat Races:
( Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race )
( Edinburgh/Glasgow Boat Race )
The Edinburgh Glasgow Boat Race takes place this year on Saturday 12th May 2007 on the Clyde. I shall be there if I can! I have always ended up missing it, which totally sucks!
